11th edition of the Subcontracting, Supply and Partnership Show

The Federation of Metallurgical, Mechanical and Electromechanical Industries (FIMME) organises, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God assist, the 11th edition of the Subcontracting, Supply and Partnership Show, with the theme "Industry, vector of development in Africa".

Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy, presided, in the presence of Mr. Abdelhamid Souiri, President of the FIMME, the opening ceremony of the show held from 12th to 15th of April, 2018, in Casablanca.

This show aims to promote the sector of the metallurgical, mechanical and electromechanical industry, to strengthen its presence within the Moroccan and African industrial landscape and to set up a B-to-B exchange platform between contractors, suppliers and subcontractors. In this edition, SISTEP is honouring ECOWAS member countries and within this context contributes to the promotion of South-South cooperation.

On this occasion, Mr. Elalamy indicated that "the know-how of Moroccan professionals in the metallurgical, mechanical and electromechanical industries could benefit African countries, offering them both proximity and more competitive products and services."

The metallurgical, mechanical and electromechanical industries sector has nearly 1,600 companies employing approximately 70,000 employees. Production is estimated at 42 billion dirhams, 7 billion dirhams of which correspond to exports. The sector has made an annual investment of around 2 billion dirhams in 2015 and generated an added value of 10 billion dirhams. The latest statistics show that the value added of the sector increased from 3.6 billion dirhams in 2007 to around 10 billion dirhams in 2015.

It should be recalled that in 2016, performance contracts were signed with the Government and resulted in the establishment of the ecosystems “Sheet Metalworking”, “Metal recovery”, “New Trades” and “Shipbuilding”.

The 11th edition of SISTEP is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy and the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, and in partnership with AMDIE, CGEM, AMICA, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Morocco, CRI, GIMAS and Maroc PME.
